Why number 4?

Why number 4?

Can anyone tell me why your car in GPL is always number 4?
When I raced Karts I always ran with number 7 and I would like to do the
same in GPL.
Anyone know how to change this?

TIA,
...Colin

Why? Because God, er, Papyrus, made it that way.

Can you change it? Not that anyone's figured out yet, and I know there have
been attempts.

Sorry. Gotta live with it.

I, too, have longed to be able to change that #4 in the race & practice
results for as long as I can remember. And like Kevin said, I don't believe
it can be done "internally" (i.e., in the results standings), but you can
certainly change the number graphically by painting a new number on your
car. This isn't too hard to do, and looks great in replays and screenshots,
but alas, you will continue to be listed as #4 within the games race &
practice standings.

It would probably be easy to change the number outside the track.  But
on the track it will be difficult to change the # on the side of the
car.... unless someone changes the graphics.

I have no idea, but in the players folder, in the player.ini file there is a
field "carnumber", which, by default is set to "4". Changing this on it's
own does not seem to change anything, so why is it there? perhaps, this is
only part of the puzzle, and another parameter must be changed somewhere.
