Nope....I don't think I ever have. Not for a computer game.
But then, I have had some rubbish which was bought on a whim! Too much
disposable income, perhaps.
Also, between 1989 and 1998, I was involved with a computer-entertainment
retailer and could "test" games to my heart's content.
Over the past seven years I have only bought a handful of "games" (mostly
Papyrus), one of which I was involved with at the beta level. Others that
have passed across my HDD have usually been sourced by my son (very handy!),
a notable exception being Grand Prix Legends and I didn't need a review to
buy that....it was going to be bought from the first day I read about its
development.
But if I *were* to be influenced by reviews, there is only one source that
would hold that power over me, and that is the magazine Computer ***
World. An exceptionally-fine magazine in a ***-world of journalistic
crap.
