If that's the straight after the kink, just where the heck was the
photographer standing?  Had to be the middle of track.

If only I could get a pic like that without the quoted text and in 1024x768.
I need a nice b/w like that for my desktop ;)

Looks to me like (can't remember the name...)  the first sharp left
hander after the S/F.  Left/right chacain type or turn, then a left after
that.  Then there's a strait and a right hank kink.  Then there's the left
that I'm thinking of.  There is a tree there and a sign about the same place
in GPL.  and the elevation changes look right.  Plus looking at the
background I may be right.  Still could be the Masta kink though.

Any case, I imagine photographers were right up to the edge of the track
in that time frame(?)

You mean one of the most famous corners in GP, Eau Rouge?  shame on you Mike
;)

Top of the hill, guard rail on the right?  Les Combe

You could be right, I think if it was after Masta there'd be a bank in the
background.  I'll have to re-watch Grand Prix.

Any of you chaps that bothered to read the text at the bottom of the
picture??

It reads:

"Clark's Lotus 49 flies through the *Masta kink* at Spa in 1967"
......[snipped]

Can there be any doubt now??

If you'd bothered to read our posts, you'd see we were expressing doubt with
the caption. ;)

Text like that could easily be misprinted, or flat out wrong.  The guy
who put the text there may have thought that that is where it was taken.  Or
the photographer may have gave him the photo thinking it was another one he
took at mast.  Or it just could be masta ;-)

Didn't ANYBODY notice that the photo is "mirrored" left-right ?

look at the number, it's a 15, and it looks like a SI ...

It IS masta all right, except the photo is just in the wrong direction.

hmm... That does work, good eye.  However, I see 21 to further confuse
the issue ;-)

This picture is taken from a book by photographer Michael Cooper. The
book, "Sixties Motor Racing" is limited to just 1500 copies I think, and
it costs 250 :)

I'm not entirely sure it's Masta either... but it's a ***y fantastic
photo!

This link doesn't help, but interesting anyway.

If you look carefully, it looks like the ENTRY to Masta, the car has just
turned in after the tree and is about to hit the 1st apex, and the
photographer is standing inside the barrier, on the 2nd apex.

I think....

Lol SpeedFreek..
(Stood there last year.. looks a bit different now!)
