DTR Controller probs

by Mark Daviso » Sat, 06 Nov 1999 04:00:00

I have the TM F1 (NASCAR Pro in the US) - the one with the switch on the
pedal base to choose between combined and seperate axis.

In DTR, RC and SR (all demos) I get no joy when using split axis.  GPL, N2,
ICR2 and even SCGT are fine.  Basically, I can select my inputs OK but when
it comes to driving, I get no power.  Full on the loud pedal - nothing.

Can't figure this one out.  Only seems to be this newer stuff.  Do recent FF
wheels have some sort of differing tech for split axis that this new stuff
is supporting at the expense of my kit?

Any help is much appreciated.

Cheers,

DTR Controller probs

Mark,

I've got a similar problem with my setup.  I'm using a CH Flightstick and
CH Pedals Combo and in DTR I can get it to recognize the gas pedal
and it seems to recognize the brake pedal when I calibrate and assign
it, but once I get on the track only the gas pedal works.  I finally had
to resort to braking with the Joystick, but would really like to use the
pedals.  I hope someone has an answer.

Later,
Joe

I have a customized TM GP1 dual axis setup, wired like a TM F1. Is your
DirectX setup OK?
I believe most of the newer stuff uses Direct Input routines. If you
calibrate and test ok in the Windows Control Panel controllers app, then you
should be ok. It is important that in the test, you should not see the
crosshairs jump around too drastically.

I found the DTR input routine to be a little finnicky.. Try holding the
pedals down half way while assigning them.. and check that they were not
'auto-re-assigned' before you exit..  worked for me!

I tried what you said, fully expecting it not to work, but you were
absolutley right.  Recalibrated, held pedals half way when assigning and hey
presto!

I guess I was thrown by other Direct Input apps working fine.

Thankyou very much indeed!

I was afraid of that, as PowerSlide didn't have split axis either.

I'll see, just about finished downloading the demo, finally with 6kb/s, not 2...
