Controller prob, PLEASE HELP!!

by Andre » Tue, 06 Feb 2001 21:31:20

HI

I just bought a steering wheel and in ALL of my racing games, small and fast
jerks to the left occures!
It is impossible to drive because these jerks keeps on coming as i drive.
For an example, in F1 2000 i slam into the walls all of the time because
these jerks happens!
I have calibrated it over and over, at im POSSITIVE that THAT isn't the
problem!
It happens in ALL of my games, so it isn't a failiure in the game!
It happens no matter if i use my wheel, my pad or my joystick, so it isn't
my wheel that's bad!

HELP ME!

Try disconnecting your other controllers and have only the wheel installed.
Then make sure that the wheel has "contoller ID #1" assigned to it.

By the way, what wheel is it...is it USB ?

Hi!

In advanced option of the Game Controller applet, there is an option
'Poll with interupts enabled'. Uncheck this options and it may help.

Also, make sure there are no conflicts with the "sound, video and game
controller" in "control panel-system-device manager"

Maybe make sure you have the latest drivers for your soundcard, or try
re-installing them.

Sure does sound like the gameport on your soundcard may have took a
dump.  What soundcard you got?  Latest drivers?  Which version of Direct
X?  Fire up DxDiag & see if there's any problems indicated there.
Default path is C:\Program Files\DirectX\Setup\DxDiag.  Good Luck.
