N2 online league in Europe

N2 online league in Europe

by Jonas Martinss » Wed, 15 Jan 1997 04:00:00

Is there going to be any organized online racing with Nascar Racing 2
in Europe? From what I understand the NRO and Hawaii is something that
isn't going to come to Europe (at least not in quite a while.)

If noone is already planning this would there be any interest in
setting up and/or racing in such a European league? Personally I'd
love to join an online league but all that I've found are across the
Atlantic and I fear that the latency will make the races undrivable.

If all contestants are Europeans I assume the PINGs should be
acceptable over Kali/Khan.

Hi Jonas,
I live in Sweden (Linkoping) and I have made at least 100 Nascar1 and
Nascar2 races mainly with Kali95.(Kahn only 2 races).
I have a ping time to WTR around 250-300ms most of the time, and I have
had no problem with 2-3 players races, if the other guys I am racing
against have similar ping times as I have to WTR. I have tried to race
other Europeans in England,France and Germany with bad results mainly
because that Sweden has a very good bandwidth to the Internet backbone
in US. I am convinced that we Swedes could race without any warping
thou, and perhaps even with our Finnish friends.
Anyone interested from Europe could send me an Email and we can try N1
or N2 over Kali or Kahn.
You need a stable ping time during the whole race if you wanna avoid
warps! If you got that and can connect with a latency=1/2 ping times
below 300ms then you will have a good race over the "Net"!

Well, some time ago, I thought that Ed told something about that there
would be a server in Europe (at least they were looking for on).
So there is hope.  (I really hope  ;-)
I think that they would give up a great market place, if they
wouldn't consider online races in Europe. I would certainly
love to get more informations about Europe and Europeansin
Europe.
