Using MAD CATZ wheel & pedals

Has anyone used the MAD CATZ wheel and pedal system.  I saw one at a Software
Etc. for $75.  How does it compare to a Thrustmaster?

Thanks,
Wholi

I might well be wrong, but I think what you saw was a Mad Catz
wheel for the Playstation, not for the PC.  In any case, the MC
compares very unfavorably to the T2, which is only $25 more, so it's
probably just as well that they stay out of the PC market...

I bought a Mad Katz (for PC) last week, and tried it on NFS_SE and GPII.
I jumped on it because many Playstation friends used the playstation
version and the wheel seems sturdy (none broke yet) and has good
ergonomics...

Alas, I didnt try a thrusmaster T2 (the cheapest in France is more than
$200...). But I am VERY satisfied with the mad katz. Its main point is
that you have 9 buttons on the wheel + a hat! I cannot see myself using a
T2 which has no buttons on the wheel to shift gears. It emulates a
thrustmaster joystick, giving you both axes + 4 buttons + hat.

The wheel has a "light" feel, but the construction seems Ok, the pedals
seems sturdy enough.

a nice touch: 2 on-wheel buttons double as "accelerator full-on" and
"brake full-on", convenient at times.
