Anyone tried CART Fury? I bought a PS2 last night so I can play Grand
Turismo 3 and I need another title, anyone tried it? It looks VERY arcade,
am I right?

Thanks,

JS

You don't need to try it to see that :)    I mean, you can shoot other cars
and get power bonus on track!

It's scary it's so bad-  for this newsgroup it would be considered the
work of the Anti-Christ or something-  the worst of the video game
point of view on racing games.  Rented it, played for 30 min. enough to
do all the tracks and find out they have abolutely nothing to do with
the real-life counterparts- like Long Beach has most the turns gone,
replaced by long turns a mile wide.  Don't even rent it.
"VERY arcade" is an understatement.  From an actual arcade coin op
game.  Be ascared, be very ascared.

NASCAR Heat 2002 is a fairly good port of the original PC Heat- they
kept the feel and it has real nice graphics, and if you are limited to
the U.S., F1 Championship Season 2000 is good for hot laps.  Le Mans 24
Hours, if not out yet in U.S.(17th?), should be soon and will be good
semi-sim fun if the Dreamcast version is any indication.  I would go
for any of those.

It's utter crap, as is Ridge Racer V.  Check out LeMans 24 Hours which
comes out on the 31st of July. Here's the latest preview:

Also, be on the lookout for Lotus Challenge and F355 Challenge.

Cool, F355 Challenge is coming to the PS2? I've heard great things about the
Dreamcast version. I also heard good things about the LeMans Dreamcast
version, the PC version sucked though. The Lotus will be a must buy, I hope
it had the 49B like in GPL.

Yeah wasn't that weird how the PC version of Le Mans sucked, and then when
they "ported" it to the Dreamcast, all of a sudden it didn't suck?!
Obviously the Dreamcast programmers were more talented than the PC
programmers and probably started from scratch instead of porting the ***
code.  Now, the question I have is where is the PC port of the Dreamcast
version?  :-P

Actually, it was developed alongside and by different teams. The DC/PS2
version was developed by Melbourne House (of GP500 fame), while the PC
version was done by Eutechnyx (huh?). I think that explains the
difference.

Yep, it was announced a few weeks ago, whih was surprising considering
that Acclaim had lost the Ferrari license and F360 Challenge had been
cancelled long ago.  F355's physics are on par with Viper Racing.
