Engine fire in GP2!!

Anyone else see this one before?  I try to keep my eyes open for posts
about strange GP2 events, but I don't recall seeing one about a car
catching fire.  It was wild - in Monaco, coming around Loews corner, and
traffic was backed up.  As I moved forward, one of the AI cars had a MAJOR
engine fire with a good amount of smoke!!  Caught me off guard 'cause I'd
hadn't seen any mention of this before.

I've got the last bit of it for replay, if this is actually a rare event (I
lost the much of the beginning screwing around with the replay mode!)  If
this actually happens alot, oh well, sorry for my unnecessary enthusiasm
(my wife had a cow when I screamed at her to come see the replay!!)

Reply by post or email if you have any comment.  Thanks!!

Tim,

I have experienced that once too and it is cool.  I noticed a plume of
smoke in front of me first and as I got closer I noticed that it was a
car on fire.  He was still going around the track, but slowly.  I
followed him and I could see the flames out the back of his car.  When
he got to the pits, he entered the pits and got fixed and went back
out on the track.  It was cool.

Yep but it's still tremendous when you occasionally happen to see one!

I got a engine Fire on Imola... just 4 corners away from the pit.
Strangely enough i was able to reach the pit and it got fixed, that i
call a minor problem.. when a engine lights up, you wont be able to fix
it.
You will notice that alot of white smoke comes out from your back, then
it turns gray, and poof.. the fire is there...

I have a hotlap saved at Imola, when my car caught fire.

The fire was caused by an oil leak, the leak starts at around two thirds
of the way round the lap, from then on smoke pours out of the back of the
car, finally just before going over the start/finish line the car bursts
into flames, but I still managed a good time.

The car actually loses power from the point where an oil leak is
indicated, so this slowed the hotlap time a little (The time was around
1:26 I think?).

I have the lap if anyone wants it?
