        ..to anyone who would know. The gplap.zip on didnt.doit.wisc.edu
        has something wrong with it (I've DLed it several times - yes, in
        binary mode).

        I heard that gplap removes the random power variations your car
        has inflicted on it before each race - is this true?

Yes, there does appear to be something wrong. I _think_ that it's
also part of wcfged50.zip (Doug Reichley's WC Config Editor), and
you can also get it from my web site (see below).

Yes, starting with version 5 it makes sure you get 716 BHP (or
something else if you edited the game) and "0" grip factor.
