The problem is this was no mistake.  He took me out period.

Yes, interesting. The administrator who you did like to race under says to
people "moron", "***", "***", "dickhead", "go back to your corner and
continue picking your nose", and I said what that was so bad?

Quotes?

Now I know why RASCAR runs so smoothly this past year.

18 months later and John's still trying to make people think I wrecked him
once upon a time. He already lost that one.

I don't race any differently now than I have in the past, so not
sure what you've seen. There just aren't any more sloppy drivers like John
in RASCAR to deal with. On ovals, a driver like him is often a handful and
patience is key, but on rc's I'd only
have to dodge him maybe twice a race as I lap him.

Then not the action, but the decision to take you out was a mistake.

I was talking about upcoming races though.

After some of his posting/rambling on the FS NG I had a feeling he was gonna
do something retarded and he sure did.  His inability to string together
two coherent sentences or come up with an original thought have given him
his only recourse which is to ruin my RASCAR experience as much as possible
in retaliation for his many shortcomings as a man.

Obviously, this isn't something you'd notice yourself, but I feel you have
gotten a lot more deliberate in what you do, whereas before I got the
impression that, e.g., passing another driver was more of a reflex action,
with your natural ability dealing with the consequences of that snap
decision as they arose.

While I wouldn't call John sloppy as a stock car driver, just intolerant of
an "A to B asap"-mentality. I also think that, while you raced together, you
weren't really equipped to deal with him. I'm sure it would be a lot easier
for you now, provided you were able to bury the history.

At that time, it wasn't even a given you'd beat me on an oval. In view of
the progression I've made over the same period, I think it's quite telling
you now manage that easily 95% of the time. Even though it appears to you as
if you still approach the races in the same way.

That's what I was talking about.  I merely said that I don't want to
race with him because his such a***head, and I doubt very much that he
could, in fact, "bury the history".

I never once claimed that Dave wrecked me "once upon a time", and I
can't really recall a time when I wasn't comfortable with Dave being
behind me (which he was quite often).

I'm not really intolerant of the "a-to-b asap" mentality as I am with
the "punt anyone that gets in my way" mentality and unsportsmanlike
moves (like causing a driver a black flag by brakechecking on a
restart).

Now, before Dave blows a gasket (as he is prone to do), I'm not saying
Dave uses those techniques.  See I can be sensitive to Dave's feelings,
even though he's a***head.  :)

"I wouldn't mind sharing a racing
surface with Mitch again, as long as you weren't in any way involved in
the race because I just outright don't trust you Dave."

If you're not trying to mark me as a wrecker by saying you "dont trust" me
on the track, then what are you saying? This should be amusing.

LOL. Amazing. Remember Bristol? Threatening to ban me from RASCAR in front
of the everyone during the practice session for supposedly wrecking you when
in fact it was your weaving all over the track that caused the incidents
(according to those here who reviewed the replay)? Don't forget that Google
exists.

I may have improved a little at N2003 due to repetition, but I've been sim
racing for eight years, so I think it's doubtful I've changed much at all in
the way I approach making a pass of other drivers in just the past year or
so. Unfortunately we usually become more entrenched in our ways and bad
habits as time goes by. :-)

No, he's not really sloppy. He says I wreck, so I say he's sloppy.

I don't remember there being any problems actually until near the end of his
RASCAR adventure.

> No, he's not really sloppy. He says I wreck, so I say he's sloppy.

Which just about sums it up. In my brief affair with Rascar (brief for no
more sinister reason that the times didn't suit me and I'm really not a very
good Nascar driver) in those brief moments I could race with you guys before
I totalled my tyres or got out of synch with pit strategy I would happily
race with either. It was purely (in my view) a personal thing which I doubt
will be buried (you have a choice which real life drivers probably
wouldn't).

To be honest I see no winners or losers here and RAS probably doesn't give a
stuff who wrecked who. Regurgitating it and re-analysing it will never come
to any real conclusion other than you don't get on.

One of the downsides of sim racing is the ability to make instant comments
and wreck cars at no cost. Drivers in real racing may hate each other on
track and even some time after but not have the opportunity to vent their
feelings until after a cooling down period and some words of advice from the
team. Deliberate wrecking to get revenge would not be viewed kindly by the
team boss who has to pay for it.

I remember seeing BTCC drivers John Thompson and Jason Plato (two very good
friends) having a right old go in the pits. Yet it stopped there because
they went their separate ways, didn't have a chat room to wind it up and
cooled down to remain good mates and put it all behind them.

Alot of what you say is true.

Bottom line is though, he can call me any name he wants and say I'm a ***
driver......none of that will bother me a bit.

If he says or implies that I wreck (which is a form of cheating) than I'm
going to reply. I've been corresponding with some people on this newsgroup
for eight years now (like yourself), and I'm not going to let garbage like
that just slide by because that kind of nonsense can sometimes stick.
