Actually, it's a VERY strong unwritten "rule" Dave; no foreign makes in
the top three divisions. Has been for as long as they've existed,
especially re the brand loyalty of the past. The lower divisions on the
other hand, have had Toyota engines, etc. in them for years.
Dodge ignored Nascar more than vice versa too :) Last twenty-thirty
years, they've had other things to worry about........like staying solvent.
Even now, I believe there would be an incredibly strong backlash if this
changed. Nascar could care less what fans think, but even they won't push
it on this issue.................yet :)
IMO, there's plenty of other racing series with "engine/chassis du jour",
so I hope they keep it as is for awhile.
