ICR shock questions...

by Mark Mitche » Thu, 31 Aug 1995 04:00:00

I think I've got most of the other settings down, but I still don't know what
to do with my shocks.  Is there some tangible indication of where the ideal
setting is?  (e.g. tire temps)  Do I want to have all of my tires approx. the
same temp?  (They are all equal across the tire)

Please help, I wanna break 0:58.00 at Long beach.

Actually I broke 0.58.000 with the Ace setup, with less than 20 gallons
onboardI
I took some wings off and it worked.

I have found that on road course if you take shock out of both the
front shocks it will give you more bit in the turns.  I don't have my
game at this computer but if i remember on ovals the front shocks
should be harder than the rears.  Also at LB I was told to practice
w/ the ACE setup in qualifying w/ approx 18 gal. and I would make it
into the top 10 easily, and you know what it's true.  WORK on your
driving not setup at the road courses

Try road course settings with 85-95% front shocks, 100% rear, front
sway bay full stiff, rear sway bar mid setting. If a course has some
faster corners of mainly one type (eg Elkhart Lake right handers) then
you can set the front inside turning tyre's shock softer than the
front outside, say 10-15% softer. Make sure you have a good camber
setting on all tyres, somewhere between -1.5 and -2.0 approx.

Play with the wing setting, but if you have front about .8 more than
the rear you will get good steering into the corners.

Best of luck

Chris..
