"DIVIDE BY ZERO" error with GP2

by Jean-Francois Germai » Tue, 29 Oct 1996 04:00:00

Have anyone ever got a DIVIDE BY ZERO error message with gp2?
I had this message when I selected "car setup" from the pit menu while
in free practice of Brazil in a world championship. I fortunately
saved my game just before that happened, and everytime I reload it and
try to select car setup, I find myself in DOS with this error message.
I just can't select car setup anymore in that game!
What can I do?
anything to do to prevent this from happening again?

thanks all

> JFI've not heard of this problem in gp2, and not experienced it. It sounds

like a disk problem to me (a corrupted save file). You could try:
1. scandisk of chkdisk on you hard drive
2. comparing the size of the save file with the size of other save
files.
3. I thibk GP2 doesn't like write caching turned on in smartdrv (but I
don't know this for definite) but this may be a cause - check you
smartdrv startup options.
