I would like to make my own six-speed shifter, although I have no idea
how to make it. ANY ideas would help. Thanks.

shifter on a thick piece of plywood, about 4' x 4', so I can put
my chair on it and keep it in place. At least two problems to
overcome...(and I would certainly appreciate any and all comments)...
First...you won't be able to use the 'gates', ie, shifting from
2nd to 3rd, up and across. So...pull straight back for shifting up,
push forward for shifting down. This poses the biggest problem, at
least in my mind. I'll need to work out how to spring load some
heavy duty micro switches to return the shifter to neutral position.
And also some stops to keep from breaking the hell out of same.
Just doing some preliminary work at this point...keep in touch.
Now if the kind folks at ECC could accomodate with extra lead-offs
from the wheel mounted shift buttons on my soon to be ordered
CDS2R...:-) cheers...duncan.
