GPL shifter or rumored BRD shifter?

Hi all,

    Just looking for opinions about the GPL USB shifter from Act Labs.

-feel
-durability/longetivity
-how easy is it to replace springs
-customer support

Most importantly, will it work correctly with: WinXP, my TSW2M wheel w/
clutch pedal (entire thing is recognized as 1 controller), GPL, F1 2k2 and
its various mods, F1 Challenge 99-02, and Live for Speed?  Thanks for your
opinions.

Someone mentioned that BRD is planning an H-shifter of its own.  When?

Had mine for more than 2 years now. I opened it once to to bend the metal
plates used to trigger the switches. After a while they can get bent, then
shifting doesn't happen correctly. (I already bought new metal springs just
in case and they seem very easy to replace).

It works well in Win98 and XP with GPL, CMR2, NASCAR 2003, Rally Trophy.
I don't remember in LFS (it's been a while) but I think it's supported.

But, they seem to have stop creating patches for new games, so for everthing
new (F1C, CMR3) the chance of having it working is very slim, unless I'm
missing something. (They are at version 2.1b (If I remember well) since more
than a year now).

It very solid, because mine's been abuse by most of my friends without
problem.

In 1998 (yup, the year GPL was released...) I was looking for an high
end steeringwheel/pedal combo. BRD was working on an FFB setup, they
claimed. When asked: "When?" they told me: "Soon"....

2. WTB: NOS shifter or shifter with button

3. Shifter Mech: Is a US 95 Golf a Cable or Mechanical shifter?

6. problem: 2002 SL2 5speed cannot manipulate shifter out of 4th gear, move shifter: dosent respond
