RAS'ers,
I have a Dell Optiplex XMT 590 I'm considering upgrading.
Currently it has a P90 processor, on-board video (2mb vram),
8x CD, SB 16 and 40 MB of 60 NS EDO RAM. I use a hard-drive
rack system for the various operating systems. I've been in
desktop support too long to trust a boot manager.
My PC will be either DOS 6.22, Dos/WFW 3.11, or WIN 95
depending on which hard drive is in the rack.
Questions: Is it worth purchasing an overdrive chip which
would make my system a P150? Saw one yesterday
for $189.00 (real live Intel chip at that!).
Will one of the three "rendition" cards also
support the older games, or do I need a different
video combination.
I have N1, ICR1 and all the expansion packs
(unopened at that), as well as ICR2. In all
the talk about the ICR2 to N2 converters, don't
I need an ICR1 to ICR2 for Indy first? If so,
where can I get that? I haven't bought N2 yet,
that will have to wait until I'm upgraded.
"Chips and Bits" is taking orders for 3 add-ons to
N2. Nascar BGN Series, Nascar Manager, and a new
track package. Tracks available in July, BGN and
Manager in November. No clue what Nascar manager
is, perhaps one of the Papyrus folk will let us
know.

I don't always get to read the group so please respond via
email as well. Remember to change the "3's" to "e's" in my
"reply to" address. I have no affiliation with "Chips and
Bits" either.
