Hi,
this is a question for the Hawaii N1 racers...
Why do I do better (faster laps) while connected, than I do by myself ?
just wondering here.
I had my first race online today, and by avoiding a turn one bender and
a trioval blunder made by some others, managed a 6th out of 10 racers
(qualified 8th, but intentionally backed up  at race start, so as not to
be said to be the cause, if there were any accidents)
anyway, point is, It seems that I normally run 195's or so at Dega, but
tonight I turned in some mid 196's. I was just wondering why

by the way, I know that's not fast by the bestboy's standards, but keep
in mind that I still use a joystick, and don't have that much time in on
N1, anyway :)

Snip

You'll find the traction and car physics to be a little different under
Hawaii multiplayer mode than in your regular Nascar 1 racing mode. You'll
probably see slightly better speeds at most of the tracks. Best way to get
a feel for it is to practice starting the sim with the "multi" command, or
"multi -h" for svga graphics. This will put you on the tracks as they are
in hawaii, but only in testing ( single player) mode.

that explains it :) thanks, Don, and JD, for clearing that up for me.

Handy,
Multi.exe is the program that your running on Hawaii. The physics
are a little different from Nascar.exe (more like N2). The track
temperature may also have been higher. Alot of guys like to run
120 degrees at Dega which produces better lap times in N1.

If you want to practice with Multi offline you can run it just like
nascar.exe (i.e. MULTI.EXE -H). The only bummer is that it only
lets you test alone (no AI) unless you hook up to another computer
and use the multiplayer option. Then it will add the AI.
