Hawaii "requires" Track Pack?

In the requirements list for using Hawaii, Papyrus lists the add on
Nascar track pack.  Can someone who's tried tell me...  do you really
have to have the add on for multiplayer?  I want to try it, but I
don't have the track pack, and am not interested in getting it just to
try.

I believe it is only required if you want to race at those tracks that are
in the track pack.  I could be wrong.

If your not interested enough in Nascar to have the track pack, the
network probably wouldn't interest you much either. Save your money
and stay off Hawaii.

It is not 'required' that you have it.  You don't even have to have a
full installation to use Hawaii.  When I called the only thing I had
loaded was the game itself, the new car set and only the Michigan track.
It worked with absolutely no problems, except that if there wasn't a race
going at Michigan or nobody would join me there then I was screwed.

You do not need the track pack to race on Hawaii.  You only need it if
you want to race on any of the tracks in the track pack.

NASCAR Racing 2 wil include all of the tracks out-of-the-box, so this
won't be an issue.

No, you don't "need" it.  You can select from the races that exist on
your computer.   Be warned, there is a split between the "haves" and the
"have nots".   When you are invited to race C***te, and you don't
have the track, you may hear some grumbling - but it's not too bad...

Hmmm, I ran Hawaii without the track pack just fine.  After running
several times, I became sold on multiplayer as much more fun that 2
player (I've been running mostly ICR and ICR2).  Then I joined a league,
and had to get the track pack for the first race.  I guess some of us get
sold AFTER trying, so go ahead and give it a go.  If you like it, we'll
see ya at Pocono maybe.
