Super 1 Karting demo - a few q's

Got it today, pretty fun, but a few questions...

The kart pushes like CRAP.  I can't figure how to drive it; I'm sure it
involves keeping a certain amount of throttle, any help???  I can't tweak
the setup, as it is the demo...

Are there any tweaks you can make with Notepad as far as getting more
laps/modes/etc??

Configure your wheel to only use the top 90degrees of movement..  that will
give you direct steering feel.

How do you do that?

I made the deadzone adjustment (to zero), but the kart still seems to have
sluggish steeering.

What other adjustments can you make?

If I can just solve the sluggish steering issue, I think I will really like
this game.

I'm afriad it's one of those cases when a ***demo from early in development
is no real reflection fo the full game. I hope Midas have the commonsence to
re-release a new demo- the full game is *awesome*.
