Why buy a product that you know has problems, and will not be fixed or
upgraded?

I'm sorry I bout it for $40 when it came out!

I agree with great game. I think SUCKS is too strong though. If you do not
try to do a 100% real race or a Championship season it is great. It runs
fine
on my P5-133. I would guess that everyone is bailing on GP2 because GP3
is on the way... Some software does sneak up on you like that.
Unfortunately
I think I am done with future MPS GP products. I would not buy GP3 for
full price, and am starting to look at some of the other products. POWER F1

is out too. There is another isn't there?

Interesting though that no one can name the specific problems....

I do not think that GP2 sucks, but do agree with a lot of its
detractors in that we are due some sort of Patch.  I wish I could play
multiplayer, so I could play Mr Bill at GP2 and show him how much he
sucks at it, but multiplayer part does not recognize my modem
settings.
Just because computer magazines have rated it high, does not mean that
it is perfect, or even the greatest.  It just happend to be the
greatest thing they saw that month.  Critics regularly pan popular
movies, most people do not listen to them, preferring to get
judgements from other people who have seen the movie.  I think that a
lot of people on this newsgroup do the same when it comes to different
sims.

The general opinion is that Power F1 can't claim to be a sim. Psygnosis
F1 is due for release soon, but it looks like it isn't going to be a GP2
killer :( The graphics will be great (especially if you have a 3DFX
board) but it isn't intended to be a hard core sim and doesn't even have
a realistic***pit view.

Cheers,
Richard

Great. I guess GP2 is it. I do like Masayards GP2 addon stuff though. One
thing about GP2 that cannot be beat IMHO is that I really get the feeling
of driving & actually *having* to be in a certain gear in a certain corner.
It has a "feeling" that ICR2 or N2 doesn't. I am always amazed when
I watch a GP and see that the real drivers use the same gear at the
same spots as I did in the game.

hmmmmmm, isn't it ironic that I use the same gear in the corners as the
NASCAR drivers? Would that be maybe 4th at say ... Michigan or
Talladega? You get no sensation of speed what so ever on GP2 once you
have been spoiled with Nascar. GP2 is nothing but a messed up piece of
cow dung. Good thing I had a shrink wrapper.....

You know what they say, racing at Talladega is like going to the prom,
there's not a damn thing you can do without a partner.

YEEEHAW hayseed!!! Oh ya... 4th gear on an oval?!? Yes I guess it is
ironic.

Sheesh.

I just disagree. I have GP2, ICR2 & N2 and I like all of them. I also think
N2 is by far the easiest to race & win. GP2 on the other hand is the more
difficult. I certainly get a sense of speed in GP2 and I only have a
p5-133.
I will agree that GP2 is messed up from the fact that MPS is giving 0%
support for it.

You know what? You should start a private e-mail correspondence with DG. Both of
you would be real happy, and r.a.s. would be a real friendly place again.

I'm sure you'll be able to find his address.

You guys enjoy yourself with my greetings,

JOH

Good job.  There are more sucky things about Grand Prix.  Even though i
dont have it, I already have enjoyed the feeling of Papyrus' sims.  And
there are more converters, documented cheats, extra tracks, convroversies,
and more to make Papyrus the #1 in racing sims.  Why was this newsgroup
created?  Papyrus.  They were the first in racing sims.  Go Jim!!!

While I appreciate the cheer, it's not particularly fair to my fellow
employees. If I disappeared and they all remained, the sims would
continue to come out. If all of them disappeared, and I remained, no
more sims would come out of Papyrus.

I get way more credit than I deserve here; plenty more credit is
deserved by the other hard-working folks in the office...
