SODA deserves a sequel

SODA deserves a sequel

I finally have hardware capable of running SODA with all the eye-candy on.
The recommended specs were a P133, but my previous cptrsm (p166 & p450)
wouldn't cut it without compromising.
This sim is still a lot of fun.  Dated, but fun.  It's got believable
physics, damage dynamics, moving suspension parts, adjustable in-car camera,
track editor so you can download user-created tracks for almost infinite
replayability.
Double the screen resolution, add support for modern 3d acceleration &
modern FF, maybe enhance the sound... it would be great!
C'mon, we've had Nascar1,2,3,4,2002,Nascar Heat, Nascar 2000, and probably
more.  SODA deserves a sequel too!

I would definitely buy it, that was one great game, ahead of it's time

I actually prefer off-road racing, and would definitely buy a sequel.

I've made a track in SODA about a month ago.  In fact, one of the greatest
fun you could take out of SODA is creating tracks in the editor (it was SO
easy), then trying to race them and see if they had kept your original
vision of it.

Still, give Leadfoot a try. It's not as good as SODA, but it's the closest
we'll ever have of a modern stadium off-road truck sim.

Not long, perhaps 3-5 minutes if I remember correctly?  Well, I found out
somewhere a file on the Internet that hacks the track editor and makes it
possible to put much more objects on the track, so it might be different
then the standard version.

But, I don't tweak the AI to race on the track (the self-learning process
inside the game).  I find it to be a waste of time, since it takes hours.  I
race the tracks all by myself without the AI, as I never were able to make
them race at a good speed relative to mine.  But the AI was quite good.

Ah ...that's the time consuming part I remembered.  With my 386, I think
I left it on all night and it was still learning when I woke up...I might
have to make another track just to see how long it takes for the learning
process now...
anyone need a rough Laguna Seca..??  :)

Can't remember where I found it, as all my old SODA bookmarks don't work (it
seems that ClubSoda is now gone forever).  So I uploaded the file, it's very
small :
