...

I have lived in Spain for a couple of years and at least my neighbours,
colleagues friends used 'no va' at times when something wasn't working.

Maybe the way these words are used differ from one country to another. I
know a couple of fundamental differences between Castellan and South
American dialects, like Venezuelan (my current neighbour is Venezuelan)
or Cuban and Chilenian Spanish (got friends from there).

Maybe there are difference between different countries in Central and
South America as well.

As long as they don't call their cars Corrida... <g>

In all events, it has NOTHING on the launch of the Honda Fitta that
was halted at the very last minute. (almost makes me blush as I'm
typing it :-)

Fellow Swedes and Norwegians will get it. :-)

hehe, and now we have the new Mitsubishi Grandis, which is the common
short name for the most popular frozen pizza.

Or, as one British pizza chain with an American ad agency once proudly
proclaimed, "hand-tossed," which means something altogether different in
Blighty.
