Seem to recall someone posting here recently about Speed not having a done
deal with the Bernie & Max Traveling Circus.  Well, true to form, the cars
are nearly on the grid and they announced a three-year deal yesterday:

Nice to see we Yanks won't have to endure ABC-covered events anymore, even
at Indy (some interesting possible implications in that one).  Also nice to
see that they got rights to all F1 footage 10 years removed, or from '93 on
back.  Could be some lovely vintage races on tap ; suggest we inundate
SpeedTV with requests for classic F1 programs.  Who knows; maybe Sierra
could run some cheap ads and bleed a few more coins out of a GPL re-release,
leading them to er, never mind...  ;-)

I was under the impression that ABC still has the rights to the US,
Canadien, Italian and the Monaco GP.  I read the Speed's press release
and they don't mention anything about being 'exclusive'.  I can only
hope that ABC is out of the picture.

If you look here, you'll see that there are four races listed as TBA.
That's got to mean that ABC will be televising them live.  On the plus
side, Jason Priestly ought to be fully healed for this years events.
And just the other day I was thinking to myself "I wonder what Red Bull
is up to these days?"

You might be right; the press release made it sound a bit different, but the
schedule does look questionable.  Oh well, it was a nice thought. Still want
to see vintage F1 races, though! ;-)

What, you don't like ABC's 'The Wild World of Dorks' ?
