Maybe GPL has future sales potential?

Seeing all these low sales numbers for GPL and those very high numbers
for the older Papyrus Nascar sims, it just came to me, that GPL may
still be a golden egg laying chicken for Papyrus/Sierra in the years
to come :-)

There's been talk about a Nascar sim with GPL physics engine coming
out at some point in the future. Since that is a Nascar sim, it will
again sell in huge numbers and all these old Nascar fans get their
first contact to a really good simulation engine.

Now I am one of those, whom GPL has totally spoiled, and I can't find
similare enjoyment from any other car sim at the moment.

Imagine the huge crowd that has bought the future GPL engined Nascar
sim, who are getting a bit bored by it and are looking into other car
sims at that point.. what is there that offers the same kind of
realism and enjoyment as the future Nascar sim..  ta-dah GPL!

I bet that at least some of those people are going to buy GPL, even
though it represents some bizarre year like 1967 and strange Formula-1
cars. Hell, I'd buy a wheelchair racing-sim, if it was based on the GPL
engine and a realistic world :-)

So here's hoping a future track-add-on for GPL, like there was for
GP2 long time after its first release!

I'm sure it will be, and I can't wait.
I'm one of the oddball few that loves the physics engine, but not the
era modelled.
Give me SCCA cars with the GPL engine, and I'll never whine again. :-)

Someone posted a while back here that Sierra should put up promo stalls at
historic racing events (like Goodwood this weekend - it's only about an hour
away but a bad back prevents me from going :-( Shit).  I thought it was a
great idea.  That sort of thing can't cost much and I'm sure having 3 or 4
decent rigs going will attract attention.  Hell, you might even get some of
the big names hooked up for a photo opportunity if they find out they can
try those old classic tracks.

Go on Sierra, it's too good a product to allow it to fade into unrecognized
oblivion.

Cheers,

Please do release some kind of addon for GPL papyrus. We are all so ***ed
we'll buy it regardless of cost or content ! :) especially if it might
improve the chances of a sequel.
