Tire setup question

I know that there's more to it than this, but is there a specific set of
things you should adjust when switching from soft tires to harder
compounds?  I dialed in a great Canada hotlap setup for F1-2K, but the
tires tend to give out over normal race distances.  If there were 3-4
things at most that I'd have to change to make hard tires work
similarly, that'd be great.  But as I said, it can't be that easy!  ;-)

I do the same kind of thing with Indycar Racing II (yes, still have it and
play it all the time).  In ICR2, compounds on road/street circuits can usually
be left at soft, but on ovals, I use soft tires for qualifying and harder ones
on two or three corners for the races.  When switching to the harder tires for
the front, the biggest thing for me is to set up with more downforce on the
front first, to get the handling balance back the way it was with the soft
tires. Aside from that, tire pressures and shocks can usually use some tweaking
after I do that.
