All you need to do is check out the review at
http://www.racesimcentral.net/

Look at page 2: "The frame rate is consistent at 60 fps". Of course, he
doesn't say what kind of killer system he tests it on... The guy has been
kind enough to put his email address in the review so I hope someone will
set this dude straight (or get the info how to get 60fps). 60 fps... yeah, I
wish. I haven't been missing
framerate this bad since I installed Doom II on my old 386...

Like Road and Track constantly picking their 'Car of the Year' from
the company that pays them the most advertising $$$, the 'killer
system' is paid for by EA and therefore, gets 120FPS but the software
only allows 60FPS.

Odds are the person read the ad and wrote a review. Next question?

In testing 60 fps is quite easy to get even with a PII 350. In race mode,
well now thats rather different.

time to add to the off topicness...:)
I used to play a ton of Doom II and Heretic over the modem to modem
connection with my friend.  He was ALWAYS a generation ahead of me on
cpu's.  And so his frame rate was usually better.  I'd come around the
corner, spot him and start shooting...scoring hits, he'd turn and still
churn out more shots than me and kill me even tho I had the jump on him.
The only times I did very well was when I achieved cpu parity...hehe.
then, of course, he'd immeadiately run out and grab something quicker..
dang him... :)
We'll probably see this until the day our console games are made by
Cray and require their own small in=home Nuke reactor to power all the
chips...

I haven't looked at the review as I'm reading this offline, but is it the PC
version they're reviewing or PSX ?
I heard the PSX version runs pretty well so maybe that was it ;)

Ummm, R&T doesn't name a "Car of the Year".  Were you thinking of Motor
Trend?  Off topic (hey, you start it :-)), R&T strikes me as quite technical
and credible.  Of course, they are biased as any subjective car reviewing mag
(or car loving nut) will be.  Now Motor Trend...well, you know about "if you
don't have anything nice to say...".
