Thanks for the info.  I sent my son out on a mission to go shopping
with the Boss(wife) and slip the game under the beer when she goes to
Sam's Club. lol

Unfortunatly, no, a bumper view is all you get for 'driver seat' feel.

No,  they could not fit the fuzzy dice, plastic Jesus and the scented crown
on the dash so they went generic LOL!

BTW I have multiple controllers & split axis, and I can confirm that it
works fine in the actual game.  My setup did NOT work in the demo.

I have big callouses from playing 'drift' mode going lock to lock...I was in
major pain later driving to the supermarket!

Bought the game last night.  It was pretty cool.  Took me awhile to
figure out the wheel selection; because I have a TSW and had to use
gamepad option to get it to work.

Racing in chase mode was kind of awkward, but got used to it.  Wife
was not too happy with the game; since my son is 15 years old and
taking driver's education now.  I told her, he needs to learn to weave
in and out of traffic and not wreck. lol

But I want a bright blue tach and speedometer, pulsing cd player with
dolphin animations and flags*** from the neon glow of the rear
view mirror! Also a chrome shifter knob, please. Or a neon chrome one.
With dolphins.

No great loss; I prefer bumper-cam.  I hate having the dashboard eat up
half my display area.

My desk is my dashboard.

I feel that in NFSPU when you have the dashboard you can't see very well and
I feel the game runs a little slower....
but it is quieter.  8-)

BumperCam is the best

Oddly enough, one of the best things I liked about NFS:PU was the
sensation of being inside the car while driving. The dash view was
well done, but the sound effects were great - the engine noise was
appropriately muffled, exterior noises (tunnels, etc) sounded
realistic and even the gear shifter sound was music to one's ears. The
only thing I could think to add would be actual recordings of the
real-life version's gearbox (whether it's a metal shifter plate or
plastic, combined with the subtle noise the clutch pedal makes when
depressed) and other minor things like friction on the steering wheel
as it turns.

Hell, why stop there? Give me the option to play with the dashboard! I
want to know what it sounds like when I turn on the A/C and set it to
3/4ths. I want rain effects, with the ability to toggle the wipers on
and off, and adjust the speed. Touches like this could really put
another good game like NFS:PU into classic status. Am I the only one
who wanted to see a series of games based off of, and of similar
quality to, NFS:PU? How about Ferarri Unleashed? Or Mercedes? Hell, if
it was done with the same goodness that was PU, I'd go for Hyundai
Unleashed!

Ah, that felt good to write.
