awhile back someone posted a comment about changing the setting of
'find fast' it being hte cause of the hard drive getting accessed
during game play.
does anyone remember what to do? where to find this program?

Remove it from the Start Up folder of your Start Menu and reboot. The
program will still bet there if you want to use it, but it wont load
by itself when you boot. If you want to free up a little more memory,
remove the office (OSA) startup from the same place.
