NR2002, F12001, Rally Trophy, and GPL in d3d?  I'm toying with the idea of
switching my gameing box over to Win2000 and would like to know of any
problems with these titles.

I'm also interested in hearing any opions on the Microsoft FF wheel. My Old
Logitech is on its way out and I'm starting to look around for a
replacement. I would be interseted in an ACT-Labs setup but I'm not will to
pay that kind of money for something I can't try out first.

I'm running XP Pro on one of my drives. 2002 runs fine.  Haven't loaded
the other titles on that drive yet.
I own a serial port MSFF form a couple of years back. Works great. Still
works but I don't think the serial version will work in XP.
I own an Act Labs Force RS setup with the shifter  and performance pedals,
as well. Absolutely love it. I use all those titles with the Act Labs piece
and am just lovin it.

GPL works fine in W2K. I'm using Wingman Momo so I have their latest
software...or at least I think it is.

Don't know why I  read XP when I clearly saw Win2k. Didn't have much luck
with  2002 and Win2kPro w/ geforce2 mx 400. Never could find a driver that
didn't lock the the thing up on boot up.

I didn't have a prob with GPL, N4, RT. GP3 2000, F1 2001. All worked
fine straight out. On an AMD tbird 1.4ghz, GF3 ti 200.

Only problem was my serial port wheel/pedals. No go in split axis
mode, as Saitek decided not to support win2k with it. So I would've
had to buy a new set, therefore I went back to win ME, which kinda
sux.

MadDawg,

I've been using Win2K Pro with absolutely no problems with any games, sims,
or controllers.

I'm running GPL on Win2k Pro using a GeForce3 and a Logitech WingMan
Formula.

When I installed the wheel and pedals, I was trying to install the
Logitech Profiler as well, which didn't work out. Even the 4.11
version that is supposed to run with Win2k did`n't recognize my
wheel. After some browsing on the Logitech site I found out that
you're supposed to run the Windows drivers instead of the Logitech
ones for the WingMan Formula.

GPL itself runs only when I start it as administrator on
Win2k. Running it as normal user sort of freezes the menus. I'll have
to try the Application Compatibility Package from Microsoft today...

Cheers

Jens

If you have NTFS, have you given EVERYONE full write access
to the GPL folder?
GPL is off course not aware of NTFS and user restrictions, so you
might have to be logged on as Administrators for GPL to be able to
write files to the disk.
I have not tested this with GPL, but I had to change security settings
for some of NFS PU's files and folders, to be able to get it working
from the "Guest" account.

That'll probably help.

Besides, I already had to remove the read-only flag from lots of files
because I copied a friend's CD-ROM full of patches and additional
tracks over the original installation and all files inherited the
read-only flag from the CD-ROM.
