After they cut away from the race, the judges would have happily
accepted that he was real, if just not very good.

Poor lad (!) didn't realise what a t*&t he came over as when he just
opened his gob.

4 weeks being trained by those guys, money no object, visiting DC and
JH - how many people would I have killed to have had that opportunity.

Bastard.......

Jesus what a plank.

And it how many of our non-simming friends will have seen that and thought
that we were the same?  Made me embarrassed for my hobby.

I can not believe such a complete ***er got selected.  I know, I know.
It's because having a***head to laugh at on TV is more entertaining than
someone who's actually got a chance.  Thing is, although I have not seen
that many episodes of the show, I saw a classical cellist become a club DJ
convincingly (many years ago I DJed) and have seen a couple of others that
were serious attempts at conning the pros, but this is the only one that
I've seen that basically took the piss.

Maybe the producers were genuinely caught out by how much of a total plank
this geezer was.

He truly did believe that because he'd played some console racing games he
could come in, drive by the seat of his pants and *win*!

And that interview.  He actually claimed that he had some new racing
techniques that he was passing up and down the pitlane and that other
drivers were thankful!

My God.  As my wife says, he'll look back at that in 15 years time and die
of embarrasment.  That, or he'll still be testing videogames and living with
his parents...

"What do you think makes Michael Schumacher so special"
"His consistency.  [so far so good]  Well he must be good.  I've watched him
on TV and the commentators always make a big deal when he goes off..."  [oh
dear]

Is there any chance of grabbing and mpg copy of this episode?
I'd just love to see it ;-)

I would if I could!

If you're interested, I'll see if I've still got it on tape.  If you're
willing to pay shipping costs (have no idea what that would be) then I can
mail the tape to you.

he was probably a prize *** before the program.
he was definitely a prize *** during the program.
he is knowingly a prize *** after the program.

well done Channel4 for warning the nation to stay away from any
games testers called Phil Deane living in Lincoln.
