N3 trucks and other Qs

I picked up the Acceleration Pack with Nascar 3, the truck add-on and Nascar
legends. I have a couple of questions:

1) When I race the trucks, I can win the pole in qualifying and then just
get passed continuously during the actual race. This doesn't happen with the
cars. What am I doing wrong?

2) Is Nascar Legends the exact same game with different tracks and cars? It
seems obvious that it is, except I would assume that it should therefore be
a more difficult game. Yet my first turn at Michigan I beat the lap record!
Is the game somehow "dumbed down"?

3) Has anyone tried this with a V5 in FSAA mode? It looks like it could
really use it.

Thanks!

Damned if I know. I'm not going to buy the trucks.

Yes, it basically is the same game with different cars and tracks. Some
rather different parameters in the physics department though so it dosn't
drive the same. The game isn't "dumbed down." Go see how you do in a full
length race. Might give you a different perspective. Mind those tires now.

All Papy games favor realism of the model over graphics. That's why we love
them.

Thanks for your response. Actually I bought N3 because I, too prefer realism
to graphics. But the N3 graphics don't really stack up to GPL's either,
which kind of surprised me. Anyhow, I really wasn't whining so much about
the graphics, I was just wondering how it looked in FSAA mode.

Oh I don't know. After all a modern oval track is itself not terribly
visually stunning, like, say, the old Glen or Spa. They're pretty sterile
enviroments visually to begin with.

The cars shapes are more complicated though. All those compound curves to
deal with.

And N3 has to deal with twice as many of them at acceptable frame rates.

Oh well, I just a bought a V3 myself, so I'll let you know about FSAA in
about.....oh, two years :)
