overlook.
The candy IS great, and after playing with it for several days, I think the
physics are dead-on -- it's the horsepower that's exaggerated, I believe. I
had a controller problem early on -- the game had trouble recognizing all
the axes properly with my ACT Labs RS/PDPI combo in dual axis mode, so for a
while, I was playing with only half-throttle available. I played around
that way for a while, and I found that with less available power underfoot,
the responses seemed VERY realistic, so I really can't wait for their "Dirt
Track Racing" title!
I'll be ordering my copy tomorrow (their toll-free number says call during
the week, and I'd rather do it that way than order on-line). I haven't
tried NASCAR Revolution, but if you like bumpin' and grindin' and slippin'
and slidin', then PowerSlide should be on your must-have list.
FWIW, I got in some on-line play with PowerSlide last night via Kali -- with
me and 4 other players in IP mode, there was NO lag whatsoever. Frame rates
were as smooth as they are when playing off-line. This game engine shows a
TON of promise. Papy had better be paying attention once Dirt Track Racing
comes out, methinks, lest they lose their crown.
Listen to the man! <G>
