At $249.95 MSRP I think I'll wait..................a long, long time for the
price to reach some semblance of reality!

The truth is out there. You just have to look in the right places and ask
the right questions.

No, but I just picked Logitech's MX Duo (Wireless keyboard and Mouse) a few days ago.  Not Bluetooth, but I
like 'em so far anyway.

Iv'e read that the range is really good. You won't have distance problem
like you would with a PC-TV setup and most keyboard's.

just have to try :)

If you click on the "Buy Online" link from the Logitech info page for this
set, and then go to Buy.Com, you can get it for $198 + special pricing on
2-day shipping ($10).

Microsoft's top-of-the-line kit is, what, $160 and in design it can't touch
this thing...

Let us know if it's any good, I'm thinking about getting one for the
"entertainment center" I'm going to put together, you know, one of those
little "cubes", gonna replace my DVD and VHS, as well as the stereo I
don't have

If I'm reading it correctly it looks like you can use the numeric keypad
as a remote ?

Remote for the PC, yes.  One gripe I've read is that it doesn't have IR for
use with a TV in the living room, but jeez... That's not what it was for :)

I like the fact that it's compact and should have the feel of a
high-quaility Laptop keyboard.  I prefer _certain_ Laptop keyboards over
desktop keyboards, particularly the absolutely wonderful keyboard that IBM
used in the old ThinkPad 600 series.  Their later models suck :(

This keyboard has real keyswitches too, not something you see very often if
ever these days.

Remote for the PC yes, but I assume that with the programs that comes
with it, it can be used to control just about everything on the PC when
the PC is used as a multimedia center, no need to hop around with the
mouse to get a movie started and things like that

Yes, it will control everything on the PC.  Apparantly the software player
that comes with it is designed to be run full screen, ala Microsoft's Media
Center, so you can use it from across the room no problem.

What it will NOT do is learn IR commands for your home receiver, DVD player,
TV, etc...  That's the gripe I heard, and I think it's an unreasonable
gripe.

Well, since this box will replace everything but my TV, I will actually
have only 2 remotes, that's 2 less than I have now :-)
