morning. Wasn't scheduled to be here until Monday!
This thing is awesome :) The keyboard feels wonderful, the Mouse (MX900) is
wonderful, and the keypad is cool as hell.
Setup is easy, but it is very different and you need to follow the
install-sheet and installer-driven instructions to the letter. Bluetooth is
a bit more complex than typical wireless.
And if you are currently using a Logitech Mouse or Keyboard (or both), make
sure you uninstall the MouseWare and Keyboard drivers you currently have
and restart prior to setting up the DiNovo. DiNovo does not use any of the
standard Logitech Keyboard or Mouse software. It uses it's own package
called "SetPoint".
Speaking of which, go to their website and download the 1.04 updates for
SetPoint and the LogiTech Media Desktop. Install the software from the CD
as instructed first, then install the updates. Do not install the updates
as the first-time install!
If I had to come up with one complaint (and I had to dig), it's that
Logitech has gone to the F-Lock system with modified F-Keys like Microsoft
started with the Office Keyboard. And yes, it defaults to the modified
layout on startup. I have never met a single person who likes this new-age
crap. If they would have the things default to standard F-Key functionality
then it could be liveable.
At least they have the F-Keys grouped in sets of 4 like it should be,
instead of that new-age groups of three bullshit that Microsoft started, and
has stuck to.
Good stuff!
I believe Buy.Com's price of $198 is still the best going. Retail is $250,
and that's what all the Superstores (BB, CUSA, etc...) have it listed for
(of course).
