I think it would offer a great opportunity for the next GPL to cover
1971 with the gas turbine powered Lotus 56B. This car looked great and
would with four wheel drive and the difficulties of keeping the
turbine at power through the corners offer a real challenge to skilled
drivers.
It only achieved 8th at Monza but this was more due to the difficuly
of learning the new car and probably could have done better with more
practice.
I think what makes GPL great is the differences between the cars so
either 1976 with the six wheelers or later years with turbo chargers
and groung effects would be fun but I still think 1971 with 4WD and
jets is the way to go.

Whatever the case, I hope GPL 2 has a secret car that can be unlocked like
the original GPL.  I don't know if I'd still be driving GPL without the
Batmobile.

That's it!  I knew I was right.......that's the car everybody "cheats with"
in GPL.  Just a bunch of low-down, scoundrel cheaters.....everybody who has
ever run GPL is a cheater!  I hate it when this happens!

Wait a minute!  I run GPL....I'm part of "everybody"......that's calling
myself a cheater too!  Hmmmm?  Let me rethink this now......

Okay....this is better:  Only the fast guys are cheaters!  All the fast guys
who have ever driven GPL, must use the "secret hidden GPL
car"......sometimes referred to by the code word "Batmobile".......but it's
really a Lotus looking type of 67' race car I think.......and all these fast
guys are huge cheaters!  I must rush off to the TP-GPL Forum and make this
announcement to protect all the slow guys from being cheated by the fast
guys!  That's it.....I will never race with fast guys again!

[TP Thoughts......."Okay, that will let me off the hook in two ways:  1a: I
am not fast in GPL and, 1b: I never drive the Lotus.  Therefore, I can not
be included in this "cheaters witch hunt" which is sure to follow this grand
and revealing announcement I shall make shortly."]

For anyone who might have a doubt:  This is a "smiley face"......  -:)
It applies to all four paragraphs above........now flame if you want....but
I am only kidding.

There, I will never make the mistake of making such a serious sounding joke
again....without including a "smiley face" for **some** of our non-English
speaking friends who probably need to get a better English
Dictionary.....and for **some** of our USA, English-speaking friends who
need to **get** an English Dictionary......any version will do you
wonders....no doubt!

Nice mohawk. Or is it that you are to offensive and abusive to really smile?
Maybe you need an internet dictionary, Tom.

Wasn't there a Batmobile carskin at one point? A vague memory tries to

And that you can earn credits and redeem them for additional car-accessories
like power-booster or indestructibility :-)

Humour just doesn't work on the USENET.   Well, it works in its most blatant
form, with simple one-liners and well-structured jokes.  If there is any
subtlety or irony involved, you can forget about it.

Kirk!  Don't you DARE give away the secret!  We need that advantage in the

Yes, especially as it activates the Batmobile in GPL. And gives you infinite
lives in the 'arcade' section that opens up if you win Season '67 in Hard
mode. The powerups don't work with the cheat though, to reactivate them, put
your name in as $MONEY$ and you're away!
