<<car, but, like setups it seems to me to be a lot to
do with how you drive. I learnt the little I know about GPL in the Eagle
because I found it easier to drive than the Lotus, and feel completely at
home in it at Monza. Now I can't get the Lotus within half a second of my
meagre Eagle times. >>

I too learned how to drive GPL  in an Eagle, with even some fooling around in
a Ferrari, but I opted to go with a Lotus one day after trying it just for the
heck of it. I'm no master, but I'll just keep working at it I guess. At Monza,
I went from running consistant 1:30/31 in the Eagle, to 1:29/30 in the Lotus.
Monaco was the only place I still used the Ferarri up until yesterday with
a best of 1:31, Then I  thought I'd try the Lotus, and with much tweaking of
the setup, and practicing being consistant I was able to turn alot of 1:30's,
and even a couple laps at 1:29. these probably arent anywhere near the hot lap
sheets, but I dont frequent them, so that is really no concern of mine. GPL for
me is just fun, and I try not to take it toooo seriously. I'll never be
concerned with being the fastest, just making it around the track in one piece

So if Mclaren start to win all the races this season will the FIA say that
they can't race cause they are to fast, I doubt it.
It's true most of the newbies jump in the lotus haven't got a clue how to
drive fast,I'll bet most of them don't even have a car license.
I've been in the lotus since day 1 and I am not going to change because a
couple of ppl can't come to grips with there lap times.

You mean like they banned turbos after Honda's domination of 1985, 86
and 87?

Or the way active-ride disappeared after Mansell's 1992 walkover?

Or the steer-sensitive braking that McLaren had to drop after the
start of last season?

Or the Brabham fan-car that was banned when it drove rings around
everyone at Anderstorp?

What the FIA "will do" has no foundation in any logic I can think of.

Cheers!

They also run a racing series. How would tennis be if Sampras' racquet
was banned because he was wining all the time?

The point being the FIA adjust the rules in order to come up to their
preconceived idea of what the status quo should be - not through any
notion of right and wrong. To whit, Schumacher's '94 DQ's and bans
which left him, surprise, one point only ahead of Hill at the last
race.

Paul,

I've seen several references to no Lotus at VROC races. Personally, I
couldn't care less how many Lotuses are in a race. All I care about is
that the drivers can keep them on the track and out of my rear end
heading into the 1st turn. If there faster than me,then pass me cleanly.
