To get the W2k/v3 -thingy working, you'll need George Smileys glide-patch,
available somewhere around the www.gplea.org site. You don't need the
D3d-patch with V3, as Glide is just so much better :)

Do you have the disk space for a full install? I selected that option
during setup and have never been prompted for a CD (W2K Pro SP1 w/ two CD
drives).

But... perhaps the "originals" CD is different from my original release
version and requires the disc to be inserted?

I think I read where the US and German version had no copy protection (my US
doesn't) but the other European versions do. I would go to gamecopyworld.com
and try the no cd patch. It probably doesn't like that you have a cdr or
maybe it doesn't like multiple cd's.

There's a special version of the 1.2.1 patch on the "originals" CD. I
recommend the GCW solution though. I had enough discjuggling on my
Amiga.
