N2002 looking for a league that ...

The leagues I've seen have set races and are usually part of a season.  I am
looking for a group that is less formal.  Like a server that is up say
nightly, but the races are relatively short (to build up points and skill)
and one with serious drivers.  Any suggestions?

On the open servers it is kind of hit and miss due to with wreckers.  I've
also seen some strange host behavior were you go from practice to qualify
and then back to practice, or worse a host that stops the race for no
apparent reasons.

thanks for any suggestions,
Russell

I'm in a GPL league that has regular races, points, etc. But in the week or
two before each race, most of the members practice the upcoming track on the
league servers (passworded). These often turn into little "pick up" races.
The drivers are all fairly serious so they want to practice in traffic, with
full fuel loads. These little races are often MUCH more fun than the league
races, because they don't count in the standings. So we're all a little more
willing to make the occasional "iffy" passing move, just to see if we can
pull it off.

You might want to consider joining a formal N2002 league that won't mind if
you don't necessarily participate in the formal races. If you prove yourself
to be a good safe driver, they probably won't mind. And you never know, you
might get hooked on the points race ;)

It's very nice to be able to recognize all the names on the server and know
they're not wreckers.
