If so, do you (can you) use FSAA  (at what resolution), how does it look and
what's the framerate hit like. I tried it on an MX card, and while it looked
pretty good, the framerate was fairly poor. I believe a V5 will run FSAA at
good framerates, but have heard that the GeForce FSAA isn't as good.
Looking forward to comments.

I've tried both and the V5 is better for GPL.
Better frame rates with the V5 in D3D, at 1024x768 2xFSAA.
The geforce2 gives me worse frame rates at the same settings and the FSAA
looks uglier than the V5.
I am running:

256 PC133 CAS3 RAM

Hope this helps.

PS. I tried the ELSA Gladiac GTS 32Mb DDR AGP card.

Bias halfway and mirrors on Cars Only and I get very good, smooth graphics and
only minor slowdowns in full fields of AI cars. Running at 1024x768. The GF2
handles high resolutions very well.

Run without the FSAA.  It makes the fonts blurry and it drags the GPUs
down...go with 1600x1200, get better framerates and less eye strain.  I
use a GTS with a 966 P3 and get 25fps and above at all times with these
settings.  Good stuff!

Anyone using GeForce2 GTS with GPL?

Could you guys give us your GPL core.ini settings for the D3D rasterizer?
Also, would you mind telling us what settings you are using for the GF2
Advance tabs in Display Properties?

This would be really helpful information.

Thanks,

Tom Pabst

Anyone using GeForce2 GTS with GPL?

I hate to break the bad news to you guys, but FSAA on the GeForce cards
automatically *SHUTS OFF* at resolutions over 800x600.  Try turning off FSAA
and running at the same resolution you have been - the graphics will look
the same.  Now try turning FSAA back on, and resetting the resolution in GPL
to 800x600 - now you'll see what FSAA actually looks like on a GeForce.

I have a 1GHz T-bird and 64mb GTS, and I have 4xFSAA turned on, but only so
that the quarter-screen view in the menu screens looks decent (though it
makes the text a little blurry).  In-car, I run 1600x1200, and there isn't a
hint of antialiasing.
