SCGT Fever!! Is it really good??

Hello Fellow R.A.S.ers;
I have not seen this many posts on one sim since GPL.
Comment/Question: I dowloaded the demo tried it & I
didnt see anything great! What am I missing? Is the full
version that much better? All constructive opinions are
welcome.. Cheers... Thom_j. aka ^Fretts..

SCGT Fever!! Is it really good??

I think it is a good mixture between true SIM (GPL) and true arcade (NFS).
I am a true SIM fan.  I have every title that Papyrus has ever put out.  GPL
has taken SIMs to the next level.  As far as I can see, no one else can
touch it.

I bought SCGT, and I am having a blast with it.  It's not GPL, but at least
I didn't have to spend 2 months learning how to drive it, to be competitive.

The full package has a career mode where you purchase a GTQ car and if you
win, you earn money, and buy upgraded parts to be more competitive and win
more money and eventually buy into higher class cars so you can compete in
GT3, GT2 or GT1.  I wouldn't use the cheat codes because it will take away
from the challenge of really getting to the higher classes

I hate to admit it, but I did use the cheat codes to get the cars and
tracks. But I still end up racing at Chatham, I like that rack the most! It
seems to have a bit of everything in it.

And as for the cars, I just couldn't wait to drive the Porsche GT1 - my
favorite in the real series. But guess what, I got hooked big time on the MB
CLK and Panoz GTR-1 more than the Porsche.

I know you think the cheat codes take away from the game, but damn, it is so
darn much fun racing the GT1 cars! And it is really interesting when you
used mixed classes! But believe it or not, in one race a GT2 car came in 2nd
overall - beating out quite a few of the GT1 cars!

Very intense racing action.  You can spend many laps in the pack,
bumping, tapping, etc.  All this contact yet very rarely is there a
frustrating spin or crash.  I find with most sims I try to get AWAY from
traffic so I don't rub and crash, in this one I love to be right in the
middle!  Nice variety of cars and tracks.  Good feeling of working
through the classes and earning the next car.  Mediocre multiplayer code
but fun as hell (me and a buddy both have cable modems and I host with a
PII 450 yet can't race with more that 5-7 ai cars).  Easy to play, hard
to master at the higher levels.  Very good game.
