I love your first game, but there is one thing I would like to see built
into Nascar 2:

A hot key so during yellow flags you can set the car in pace mode (a
glorified cruise control) to keep the car in line and your speed correct
so while the many laps of yellow go by, the driver can relax and let the
computer drive for a bit, and it should also be able to be deactivated
with movement of the joystick, wheel, etc...

Last point, I saw this on a race car, real live one not a design, this
car had it's gauges twisted so when all the temps and pressures are up to
where they are supposed to be all the needles are pointing straight up
(towards 12 O' clock).  Then a driver can recognize a problem with his car
with a glance, if the needles don't all point staight up, you have a
problem, this will help the driver to keep his eyes on the track where
they are supposed to be!!

Just a suggestion, if they are good or stupid, let me know I would like
to hear a second opinion

This is standard procedure for every race car I have ever driven.  You twist the
gauges so they point strait up when in correct position.  I have never seen it any other way.

P. S. I have never seen a speedo in a race car and certainly not digital ones.

Agreed! Hope it isn't too late for this to be worked in :-(.

I also agree...this is an excellent idea.  (If I remember, Papyrus'
first 'Indy 500' game (not Indycar 1) had a cruise control (well,
better than nothing) built in...
Another good idea...(is anyone else paying attention.....ED?   :)

They're not bugs!  They're random features!

Would this not take away from the realism of the sim? I mean the actual
drivers in Nascar do not get to take a rest when the yellow is out. When I was
a beginner I wanted this feature, but now realize it would be too unrealistic
to have. Maybe I am just to into "real-simulation" .

I think we need trash on the track like hot dawg wrapers that get
sucked  into the air cleaner and cause the engine to over heat, and
oh yes the  occasional Beer Can being thrown from the stands onto the
track bringing out yet another yellow, and chicken bones.......yes we
need chicken bones.............

I think it's great idea as well, and if you think it affects the
simulation, you don't have to use it. I also think there should be some
way similar to the race accelerator that you can go directly to the last
caution lap. You could do a hot key, so you could go through your pit stop
and then just jump to the last pace lap.

says...

Don't use the feature, then. Better to have it available for those of us who
want it then to leave it out. :-)
