N3, MX300, LWFF software conflict?

by J.Maxwel » Fri, 17 Dec 1999 04:00:00

I just re-installed everything after temporarily switching to a Diamond
MX300 to see what the sound reflections sounded like in N3.  But I cannot
seem for the life of me to get the customized profile settings I have for N3
with my LWFF software to load when I run N3.  I have 3 of the wheel buttons
set to toggle the F1, F2 and F9 boards off and on, and report combined axis
off, but these settings do not load.  Anyone else have apparent conflicts
with the MX300 and LWFF software?

I have the same setup with no problems. You are lauching the game through
the profiler.

N3, MX300, LWFF software conflict?

Since I got my LWFF a few weeks ago, using the latest version 3.30 of the
profiler, I haven't been able to get the profile I created for N3 to be
loaded - even when launching N3 from the profiler.  This is also the case
for NLegends - for all others games/sims, it works fine.  I've read on ras
that this is a problem with 3.30 and the previous version (3.25?) worked
fine.  Not sure if it's related, but I also have a Vortex2 sound card
(Turtle Beach Montego II).  As a workaround, I set the global force and axis
settings for N3/NL, but I cannot get the buttons mapped to function keys.

For what it's worth, after applying the DirectX7a update, everything works
fine with my Logitech Profiler and Nascar3 and Legends.  I did also
re-install everything again, installing only the 35meg 2040 reference
drivers for the MX300, version 3.30 of the Profiler, and things still didn't
work, but after I applied the DirectX 7a update, like I said, it works fine
now.
