T2 adjustment possibility question ???????

by William Dahm » Fri, 09 May 1997 04:00:00

I want to add more restience to my T2.  At present it is drivable with
only one hand which is not realistic, a real driver in a real CART car
lapping MIS has to use 2 hands to wrestle the car, one hand just
wouldn't cut it, so I want more restience.

I opened up my T2 and took a look at things.  I found the cord was
doubled over and closed with a metal clamp making a loop.  I worked a
pen through each loop and anchored the pens on the***lanes at the
bottem of the unit, then I could strech the cord as much as I wanted by
moving the top of the pen outward.
This was great but I couldn't find anything that would hold the cord
out like this.  I don't know where to get duplicates of the white
plastic ties that hold the cord doubbled over and even if I did I
wouldn't want to cut the origional ties as I don't know if I would be
able to get things back to the way they are now.
I even went to a hardware store and looked for something to help me out
but I didn't find anything useful.  Wally's page has a good solution if
the side of the T2 was wood but it isn't and I can't drill holes in it.

I'd really like to find a way to do this.  Perhaps I could just replace
the entire cord with one that is much more stiff?  I don't know how to
do this so if someone would explain I would be thankful.  I'd like to
find a way to do this as I'd rather not have to spend $$$ on a TSW but I
guess I will have to if I can't find a solution to one of the above
problems.
