T2 "adjustment" idea anyone?

by William Dahm » Thu, 13 Feb 1997 04:00:00

Having just opened my T2 I have seen the two clear pink things wraped
around the screws that determine the wheel lock.  I was thinking, If one
was to take those out and make a new hole in the center, then put one of
the screws there, then put the pink thing back around it, that would
increase the wheel lock about 45 deg in each direction brining the
entire lock to about 360 deg, very realistic.
My only reservation is that you would be turning against great force
once you got past about 150 deg in either direction and I don't know if
the thin plastic piece connecting the wheel to the unit could handle
that much force.  I suppose it would be possible to make an adjustment
to the cord, or perhaps replace it with a less resistent cord to
compensate.
        Anyone tried this?

One question you have to ask is - will the Potentiometer support the 360
degree movement?

You're right Tom, the pot will not turn 360 deg.  I believe the pot will
turn about 270 deg.  One could possibly find a 360 deg. pot and lengthen
the bungee cord.  Might work well!  Good idea William!

Dave

Trouble is you wouldnt be able to control it....'cause unless its very
much different to the GP1...you just ripped the pot apart. They have at
best a max turn of 270 deg......sorry.

Mike.
