graphic hic-up when crew chief or spotter chime in

running nvidia 6600gt, SB audigy zs 2
512mb ram
2.6ghz
P4

when running nascar sim when the crew chief or spotter chime in my
graphics do a quick freeze then continue.

im pretty sure that as the game continues the problem slowly fades
away, but am wondering if anyone else is having this problem and if
there is a way to fix it.
