I've just downloaded the IRC demo (from
http://www.racesimcentral.net/)

I've got a Intel Pentium 133, Windows 95 rel A, Intergraph Intense 3D
100 (Rendition Verite chipset)

I installed DirectX5 core and then the latest Intergraph Intense 3D
100 drivers & Sound Blaster drivers.

All I get is a blank black screen with a mouse pointer. Nothing
happens. I press return and the game returns to the windows desktop.

Has anyone had similar problems and if so what is the fix?

Same problems for me. I'm guessing this is a Direct 3D game tested only for
3Dfx a la X-wing vs. Tie Fighter Direct 3D patch.

Try 32-bit mode. I got the same thing until I tried 32-bit.

What type of video card are you using? [I have an Intergraph Intense
3D 100 - Rendition verite chipset]

I got it working by using the DirectX5 video drivers from Microsoft -
Intergraph's drivers did not work.
