Believe it or not, but I don't have a convenient binary file editor!
I'm wanting to edit the US '95 carset to make it European compatible
(as recommended by Ralf recently - sorry, can't remember your surname,
but I'm sure everybody knows who I mean d8-). Does anybody have any
good Windows based recommendations? Otherwise I'll just write my own
quick and dirty utility to do it for me.

Yeah, I read that one too and managed to solve my problem with the garage
access. But it sure was tough to find an editor capable of editing a file
sized 1400 KB!
The only way it worked for me is:
Windows Write !!!!
Just open the carsfile and do NOT(!) convert it into Write-Format. Then
replace those kell_5 with beng13 (should be 4 or 5 occurences) and save the
file under its old name (should make a backup copy before playing around
with the file!). Et voila, now I can access the garage....
