rec.autos.simulators

I don't know if this topic has come up or if ever discussed, since I've
been absent from r.a.s. for some time, but has the idea of injuries
and/or suspensions to drivers who blatantly cause crashes to try and win
been talked about?  It's a shame that some of us try to avoid some of
the superspeedways due to over-anxious drivers.

I quote from another post:

and bad decission by a few drivers trying to win at ANY cost)."

I recall that when Hawaii was just beginning that this was one of the
concerns to those who made Hawaii possible.  The good being : " that
this was a chance to race at break-neck speeds with 38 other drivers
with no chance of anyone getting hurt."  But the bad being: " that there
are people out there who race just to cause accidents BECAUSE they can't
get hurt."

With NRL just a few months away, I truly hope that they implement some
sort of penalty or injury rating to anyone purposely causing accidents.

It is to be hoped that the skill level system, incident penalties and
the structured tiers of competition in the NRL will help rid us of the
"arcade" racers out there.  I know at least that this is the intent of
Papyrus/Nascar and from what I've seen and heard, I don't think
recklessness will be tolerated - I think it will be naturally trickled
down to the lower "arcade" levels of competition.

If not, anybody very good at welding?  I'll see if I can round up some
'virtual' steel beams to mount on the front of our cars!  (or, how about
a 'virtual' left hook in the garage area? - works sometimes in real
life.)
