visually, it looks much like the first PSP Ridge Racers

there seem to be tracks from Ridge Racer Revolution,  Rage Racer and
Ridge Racer Type 4.

Namco:
I'll make a deal with you, I'll buy Ridge Racers 2 for PSP and Ridge
Racer 7 for PS3,  IF you include an "arcade history mode" in RR7 that
has exact arcade System22 renditions of Ridge Racer, Ridge Racer 2 and
Rave Racer.

note: PSP Ridge Racers 2 (2006)  and Arcade Ridge Racer 2 (1994)  are
totally different games. only the "s" differentiates the titles.

brief rant: the texture-mapping in arcade System22 Ridge Racer,
Ridge Racer 2 and especially Rave Racer, is of a higher resolution than
the texture-mapping in RR5 on PS2, or Ridge Racers on PSP, and even
this new Ridge Racers 2 for PSP. Only RR6 for Xbox360 has higher
texture resolution, as will RR7 for PS3.  Heh, it's weird, both PS2 and
PSP, are, overall, much more powerful than the old System22 arcade
hardware. However, System22 games generally put out higher resolution
texture-mapping, dispite having far lower poly/pixel/lighting

System22 had very high res textures, while PS2 and PSP generally use
lower res textures with the only advantage being bi-linear filtering to
make textures look smoother, a feature System22 lacked.   this is all a
matter of fact, not opinion.

ah well, who cares right, they're all the same arcade or arcade-style
"drifty slidey" game anyways.
